A popular Pakistani singer who defied a Taliban ban on singing and dancing has been shot and killed in Peshawar, reports CNN. Ghazala Javed and her father were killed by gunmen on a motorcycle who sprayed their car with bullets. She was credited with helping revive music among ethnic Pashtuns after years of terrorist intimidation. Last year, Javed made headlines when she took the unusual step of divorcing her husband after she discovered he had at least one other wife. Police say her ex-husband is a suspect in her murder.
