A 16-year-old is in serious condition—but miraculously alive—after being accidentally shot through the skull with a spear gun, Florida doctors revealed yesterday. They showed off a stunning X-ray that shows the spear lodged inside the teen's head, its tip protruding out the back. Nasser Lopez was swimming in a lake near his home when a 15-year-old friend accidentally hit the trigger on a spear gun he was loading, the Miami Herald reports.

The spear hit Nasser just above his right eye. "It's a miracle the spear missed all the main blood vessels of the brain," a neurosurgeon said. Nasser was flown by helicopter to the hospital, where he underwent three hours of surgery to remove the spear. Doctors say he doesn't remember the incident. (More Nasser Lopez stories.)
