White House Would Like Your Wedding Gifts

Campaign unveils 'Obama Event Registry'

(Newser) – "I now pronounce you, husband and White House?" In a fundraising move already getting tweaked from the right, the Obama re-election team has unveiled the "Obama event registry." Instead of asking friends and family to buy gifts for the newlyweds (or birthday boy, or whomever), you can just shovel all that money to the Obama campaign, reports Mediaite.

"Got a birthday, anniversary, or wedding coming up?" asks the Barackobama.com website. "Let your friends know how important this election is to you—register with Obama 2012, and ask for a donation in lieu of a gift. It’s a great way to support the President on your big day."

No thanks ... I'll just flush my $$ down the toilet.

My grandmother in-law bought us a pig for an African Village in our name. Of course that went to help feed starving children so... it actually meant something. Obama will probably lose this election so all of these donations will go to waste and you'll all look like fools not to mention you won't have any pots, pans or baby clothes.
