Another Rapper's Kid Snags UCLA Football Scholarship

This time Snoop Dogg's son, Cordell Broadus, is on the receiving end

(Newser) – Apparently UCLA really did not give a fig about all the controversy it stirred up by handing a $54,000 football scholarship to Diddy's kid, because now it's gone and doled out yet another football scholarship to yet another rapper's son. This time around Snoop Dogg's progeny, Cordell Broadus, is the lucky recipient, though Larry Brown Sports notes that to hear head coach Jim Mora tell it, he was unaware of the connection. Since Cordell is currently an incoming sophomore at Diamond Bar High School, E! notes, he'll have to wait a couple years before joining Sean Combs on the Bruins. Lindy West shares her idea on Jezebel: "It would behoove staggeringly rich scholarship recipients to make matching donations to need-based scholarship funds."

Seriously Newser? This is what you sound like... "They let another one of 'Those people' into a collage, don't they know our rich white kids need scholarships too?" "Did you hear a rich jewish comedian's kids all got scholarships?" or "Did you hear a conservative country singer, his kid got a scholarship..." This is such an out-dated, non issue, seriously lost some respect for newsers seeing this crap.

If any child works hard and obtains a scholarship they have the right to it, even if their parents are rich. According to what is been reported Diddy's son and now Snoop's son are getting scholarships based on their sports ability. As I have heard people say, "My parents are rich-not me! :)."  I personally admire kids that are wealthy who work hard and are motivate and can do the work to win the scholarships! More than likely, both teenagers are afforded anything they could possibly want and for them to still WORK hard, when they don't really have to at this point in their lives is GREAT! This may not be the nicest thing to say but I have a girlfriend, who is NOT rich, and gives her 12year everything she wants, I hope the girl is motivated enough to graduate from high school let alone go beyond that. Motivation is great for the wealthy or the poor. Also, people don't know if Diddy or even his son will donate to the college or how these people may give back in the future. Why punish rich kids for working hard because their parents are rich. Hard work will come in handy for the rich or the poor.

The kid should not  be penalized simply because of his family's income.
