(Newser) – PETA is irked by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's new designer backpack—and not because it costs nearly $17,000, although you have to admit that is irksome. No, the animal rights organization is upset because the luxury backpack is made with fur, E! reports. "If it looks like a troll and acts like a troll, it's probably a Trollsen Twin—or someone wearing one of their new totes, which are made from the fur and skins of innocent animals," says the group in a statement.

"What the Olsens lack in creativity, they try to make up for in shock value. Sadly, it's the foxes, calves, and alligators—who often have the fur ripped off them while they are still conscious and able to feel pain—who pay the dearest price," the statement continues. Shockingly, this is not even the Olsen twins' most expensive backpack

PETA, as usual doesn't have a clue of what the are talking about. A fur trapper does not and would not attempt to "rip" the fur from an animal dead or alive. It must be carefully cut and pulled off the carcass, which you damn sure can't do with a live animal, unless you want to be bitten and clawed to hell. Besides which, that would destroy the value of the skin. On the same note, I would just love to see anyone TRY to skin a live alligator. Has anyone watched Swamp People? Try being in a boat with a 6-8 foot or larger LIVE, PISSED OFF gator, and see how successful you are at skinning it!

I love fur and PETA can STFU and take their b.s. elsewhere. If they want to pitch a bitch fit about fur they should go to the manufacturer who made it, not the people who bought the available product. I love animals, and don't want them to be killed for fur and the rest of the carcass wasted, however.
