After 30 squirrels made a break for freedom from a Japanese zoo, workers assigned to recapture them were a little too successful. After a few days spent trying to recover the squirrels, which escaped from Tokyo's Inokashira Park Zoo after a typhoon-toppled tree sliced through netting, workers ended up with 38 squirrels, reports the Japan Times. Keepers plan to check the squirrels for microchips to determine which ones are zoo residents and which ones are shanghaied wild squirrels.
But more squirrels may be on the way: "We still receive about four to five reports a day from witnesses," said a zoo rep. "We will continue setting traps as long as people keep reporting squirrel sightings to us."
