Katie Holmes: Marriage Was Over Last Year

She also claims they were NYC residents for 2 years

(Newser) – Katie Holmes' divorce papers have revealed another little factoid: Her marriage to Tom Cruise was "irretrievably" ruined at least half a year before she filed for divorce, TMZ reports. Sources linked to Tom call her contention "baffling," considering how "blindsided" he was by the divorce. Maybe this photo of them walking hand-in-hand two weeks ago tells the whole story.

But wait, that's not all. Katie's divorce documents also claim the couple had been New York residents for "at least 2 years"—an assertion Tom is sure to deny, considering that New York courts will be more inclined to give Katie sole custody of Suri. And the divorce has pushed Katie to fire one staff member who was far too close to Tom.

It was over the moment they got the pre-nup. Here is an extract from the vows (as imagined by moi) Agent (whats a priest in Scientology?) - Do you take Katie to be your lawful wedded wife to have and to hold from this day forward?* (TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY) Tom - I do Agent - in sickness and in health? Tom: I do (checks Terms and conditions under heading 'Ilnesses which are not covered by marital vows'. Agent: Till death do us part? Tom: Ermm, can I phone my lawyer a second?
