Sarko, New Squeeze Hit Egypt

Posted Dec 26, 07 9:58 AM CST in Arts & Living Gossip World

(Newser) – Nicolas Sarkozy has flown to Egypt, where the French president will meet with his counterpart Hosni Mubarak after spending a few days on the Nile with new girlfriend Carla Bruni. Paparazzi staked out the airport before the arrival of the divorcé and the supermodel-turned-singer, who flew in on a private jet owned by a French billionaire.

This isn't the first time that Vincent Bolloré has helped out his friend Sarkozy: In May, the newly elected president borrowed the industrialist 's yacht for a cruise to Malta. Opposition politicians are wondering what kind of recompense Bolloré is getting. Later this week Sarkozy, Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, and a 200-strong delegation will arrive in Cairo for a state visit.
