Dem' Latest Campaign Lure: Coffee With Joe Biden

$3 donation earns a chance for trip

(Newser) – Three dollars is about what your average Starbucks latte costs, but in the Obama re-election campaign, that same $3 might just get you a cup of coffee with Joe Biden—not to mention airfare and a hotel room for the trip, reports USA Today. Called, unsurprisingly, "A Cup of Joe With Joe," Biden calls the contest a "grassroots" fundraising effort to fight back against Mitt Romney's "unprecedented" spending. It's a little more low-key than a dinner with celebs—or maybe you'd prefer to sign over your wedding registry?

The Democrats' audience thrives on people betting on shit that's a long shot like dinner with the president and the healthcare bill being run properly.

It's dumb shit like this that further demeans the prestige those positions had.  It's a fucking lottery and it preys on people that can't do math. What's next, folks?  Reality TV?  Get some election year sponsorship from Monster drinks and Slim Jim?  If Romney wasn't such a sleazoid, I'd be just as likely to vote for him just as much as I'd like to give our current administration the bird for this idiocy.
