Lock, Stock, and Orange Bowl

Posted Dec 26, 07 3:24 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – College football fans can literally take home a piece of the action when Miami officials auction off every salable piece of the soon-to-be-demolished Orange Bowl in February. On the block are the giant scoreboard, players' benches, trees, and even the urinals. "You name it, it will be available,'' says the president of the auction company.

Diehards can bid on lockers, turnstiles, ice machines, and trainer tables, with prices expected to start at $10, reports the Miami Herald. Seats will carry fixed prices ranging from  $40 to $500. Autographed items signed by the likes of Dan Marino and Jim Kelly will sell for a premium. The stadium will be mechanically demolished by April.
