(Newser) The Amazing Spider-Man had a pretty decent six-day run, pulling in $65 million over the weekend to notch a $140 million total domestically, notes the Hollywood Reporter. That gives Spidey a $341.2 million tally worldwide, but the AP notes that it still lags behind the previous incarnation of the franchise. Ted captured the No. 2 spot, with $32.5 million for the weekend, while Oliver Stone's The Savages opened at No. 4 with $16.2 million. Katy Perry: Part of Me languished with $7.2 million.

It was a really good movie. It was closer to the actual Spider-man comic the the others who were based off of Spider-man 2099 (as far as powers). Acting was really good and the action was excellent. My only complaint, like all super hero movies, the character runs around without their mask way too much.

Saw it the FIRST time. No need for a remake already! Save your money, kids.

When i saw Tobey Maguire I thought boy did they pick the right guy for  Peter Parker. The whole film was well done and cast. Spiderman is one of my favorite superheroes but I have no desire to see this cheap rehash.
