Steven Tyler Leaving American Idol

He says Aerosmith has to come first

(Newser) – American Idol will have at least one and maybe two new judges next season. Steven Tyler says he's leaving after two seasons because he wants to devote his time to Aerosmith, reports TMZ. Jennifer Lopez, meanwhile, tells AP she's unsure whether she'll be back to rejoin fellow judge Randy Jackson. Tyler, incidentally, avoided the typical boilerplate statement, even managing a Fatal Attraction reference: "After some long ... hard ... thoughts ... I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit." Read more of it here.
