Sage Stallone was dead for three or four days at least—maybe even a week—before the housekeeper found him in his room, TMZ reports. Sources say the room was "littered with junk," including food, soda cans, beer, cigarette butts, and drawers packed with pill bottles—some of them "huge." Apparently he led a reclusive life "like Howard Hughes" and hadn't spoken to anyone for a week.
What's more, the housekeeper had instructions to never knock on his door—much less clean the room—so the body wasn't found until yesterday. Sage's mom had told the housekeeper to check on him after Sage couldn't be reached. Law enforcement sources say the room is "disgusting," and deduce so far that Sage's death was an accident.
