Weiner: I'm Not Running for Mayor

Let the image rehabilitation of Anthony Weiner begin. The ex-congressman and underwear model sat down with his wife and baby son for a humanizing interview with People, in which he extolled the virtues of family life, and said he wasn't planning to run for office—yet. "I can't say absolutely that I will never run for public office again, but I am very happy in my present life," he said according to USA Today. "The only next dramatic steps I'm planning on are Jordan's first."

News reports have indicated that Weiner is looking to get back into politics—perhaps with a run for mayor of New York. Of the dirty photo scandal that drove him from office, Weiner said he had "enormous regrets. Wife Huma Abedin has forgiven him, too. "My husband did a really stupid thing," she said. "But there was love and a commitment to this marriage." The interview also reinforces Weiner's new stay-at-home dad image, noting that he does all the family laundry. (More Anthony Weiner stories.)
