(Newser) – Mexican police have busted 17 men—including two police officers—for a savage attack on a church-sponsored youth group that shocked the country. Five women and girls were raped, and others beaten and robbed during the hours-long attack by a gang of armed men on a group of 90 youths camping at a park on the outskirts of Mexico City, reports AP. The attack, the latest in a series of robberies and rapes in the forest parks that surround the city, was not related to organized crime or drug gangs, according to prosecutors.

The attack happened in an eco-park near the lower flanks of the Popocatepetl volcano on the eastern outskirts of Mexico City.

In mexico, people attack the church camp kids. In the US, the church attacks it's own kids.

If it's not related to the drugs or gangs... my next question is how that many dudes get together and decide to terrorize campers? "Seeing as how the law is busy with all the gang stuff, we could probably get away with raping a bunch of people. Who wants to go rape someone?" And 20 people agree to this??!
