When Chick-fil-A boss Dan Cathy recently confirmed that the fast food chain is against gay marriage, quite a backlash ensued. Comedians mocked, Boston's mayor vowed to ban the restaurant in his town, and the Jim Henson Company even stopped making toys for Chick-fil-A children's meals. Fortunately, Mike Huckabee has come to the rescue of the chain with Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, Mediaite reports.

"I have been incensed at the vitriolic assaults on the Chick Fil-A company because the CEO, Dan Cathy, made comments recently in which he affirmed his view that the Biblical view of marriage should be upheld," Huckabee writes on Facebook. "I ask you to join me in speaking out on Wednesday, August 1 'Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day.'" No protest signs necessary, Huckabee explains, just show up and eat at your local Chick-fil-A restaurant.
