(Newser) – Sorry, Twilight fans, those nasty rumors turned out to be true: Kristen Stewart did cheat on Robert Pattinson with her Snow White director Rupert Sanders. Both Stewart and Sanders issued mea culpas today after lovey-dovey photos surfaced, reports TMZ.

  • Stewart: "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
  • Sanders: "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," said the 41-year-old father of two. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

what i find funny is how people comment on the age differnce..they are both adults..if it's OK to judge/criticize for age difference between adults then it's A-OK to judge based on sexuality(i.e. gays)

lol, i guess anyone stupid enough to be a twilight fan is also dumb enough to believe that celebrity relationships and marriages are actually anything but another 'movie'. Celeb 'romances' are concocted by publicists media companies to sell magazines, they're actually written into the stars' contracts, as in, 'such-and-such number of public outings (planned paparrazzi shots) in the company of so-and-so', accompanied by the amount of money the "star" will OWE the publicity company if he or she fails to live up to this contractual obligation. I guarantee that a "behind the scenes romance" with Pattinson was a part of her contract for the Twilight franchise, telling her exactly how many "candid" photos have to hit the tabloids every week, when to pretend to have a fight, when to be photographed with someone else, etc. And I would be very surprised if this "cheating" with the producer (and they did it in front of cameras, how convenient!) wasn't also concocted by the producer's publicist to get HIM more press. Just remember when you're seeing actors and actresses in "real life, off-screen" situations, there is no such thing as 'off-screen' in the media and hollywood. If you're seeing it at all, you can bet your sweet ass it's because some publicist WANTS you to see it.
