Sammy Blasts Homer in Chicago

Posted Apr 18, 07 10:49 PM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – It was just like 1998. Sammy Sosa’s 3-run homer, number 591 of his career, propelled his team to an 8-1 win over the White Sox last night in Chicago. Only this time, it was on the North Side, Sosa was wearing a Rangers uniform, and the fans were booing him.

The always-confident right fielder was pleased to have success in the town he called home for so many years. “Definitely that moment was a moment I have to feel great,” Sosa said after. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen remained unimpressed. “I’m not scared of Sammy,” he said.
