Wade Page's ex-girlfriend and fellow white supremacist has been arrested on a weapons charge after police searched the home she shared with the Sikh temple shooter until a few weeks ago. Misty Cook, a 31-year-old nursing student, was busted on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, reports the Los Angeles Times. She was previously convicted of fleeing and eluding police in 2005, according to court records. The Anti-Defamation League says that like Page, Cook was active in neo-Nazi organizations, including the Volksfront white power group.

More details have emerged about Page's life in the years before the mass shooting, the Washington Post finds. His discharge from the military came after he showed up to formation drunk, and he was fired from a trucking job he had held for four years in 2010 after he was cited for driving while impaired. An Oregon man who says he was Page's closest friend in the military says he was "a very kind, very smart individual," but was involved with white supremacy. "He would talk about the racial holy war, like he wanted it to come," he says. "But to me, he didn't seem like the type of person to go out and hurt people." (More Wade Michael Page stories.)
