(Newser) – Another sign that luxe housing is making a rebound? A Florida estate has sold for $47 million, a record for Miami-Dade County, reports the Wall Street Journal. The buyer was an unidentified Russian. The newly built estate was initially on the market for $60 million, but even with the price cut, it set a single-family home sale record. "The market has changed dramatically for the super high end," says a local broker. "These are prices that we've never, ever seen before."

So what do you get for that absurd amount of cash?

  • 30,000 square feet with glass walls peering out onto Biscayne Bay
  • 10 bedrooms
  • A 3-D movie theater
  • A private beach, complete with several tons of sand imported from the Bahamas
  • A wine cellar with fingerprint ID security
  • Access to the private golf course on the small gated island where your house is located
  • One of your neighbors is Julio Iglesias

I can do anything a rich guy can do, just not as conveniently. 1) the house has 10 bedrooms....I have a bedroom 2) movie theater....I can go to a theater and BTW movies are mostly a waste of time, especially lately 3) Nice view....I can see nice views 4) golf....I can go play golf 5) beach...I can go to the beach 6) Julio.....I have a nice neighbor named Doug who is prolly nicer than Julio. 6) Wine cellar....I can buy wine but who wants to drink rotten grape juice anyway? What else can rich guys do? Drive fancy cars...my '07 Taurus will get me there just as fast and I can park it in a crowded parking lot and not worry about it. Travel....$1K will get me darn near anywhere I wanna go and back. Oh yeah, I can also be anonymous when I go somewhere or audition for something. Having enough money to give you choices is best. Living opulently is for arrogant fools.

"One of your neighbors is Julio Iglesias" Ah...so that's why they reduced the price.
