Posted Dec 28, 07 11:15 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – The surprising New Orleans Hornets won easily at Charlotte tonight, led by Tyson Chandler's 17 points, 17 rebound performance paired with star guard Chris Paul's 17 points and 11 assists. The Bobcats were booed off the floor by the home fans at halftime. A former star at nearby Wake Forest, Paul had 500 friends and family on hand. Elsewhere:

  • Speaking of blowouts, Houston dominated play in the second half in a 20-point win at Memphis, despite missing perennial All-Star Tracy McGrady. Yao Ming and Luis Scola each 22 points for the Rockets.
  • Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter combined for 50 points, leading the Nets to their fourth win in their last 14 home games, 109-106 over Washington.
