(Newser) – Syrian rebels say they shot down a government fighter today and captured the pilot who ejected—a major feat after days of aerial attacks, the Guardian reports. Syria's state news agency reports the plane crashed due to mechanical failure, but a local activist claims rebels shot down the MiG with heavy machine gun fire. "The man who shot down the warplane is Muhamed Allawi," he says. "When I told him 'congratulations,' he replied 'congratulations to all of us.'"

In a propaganda knock for the rebels, newly released video depicts them tossing bodies from a building in Aleppo and repeatedly shooting a bound man, the Daily Mail reports. In one video, a crowd shouts, "This is a Shabiha"—a reference to pro-government forces—while the man's body plummets to the Earth. "If these videos are confirmed, such atrocities harm the revolution," says a human rights activist. "They only benefit the regime and the enemies of the revolution."

Syrian Uprising Summary 2011-2012::: "A war in which a Regime which is holding tightly to its seat, kills random people who decided to revolt and over throw them, these rebels are also shooting people at random at times,in order to spur problems and lead to the forced exit of the regime" To me,both sides ,espicialy the rebels are traitors and shameless men to the people, because of the rebels,is why the situation in syria esclated, and because of the rebels is there problems in syria that will last a while!  The situation in syria is disasterous with planes being barred from entering the country even in the capital, with rebels with anti aircraft weaponary (thanks alot turkey),and with 2 sides, non being right, fighting eachother to the best of their capabilities to death!  ************************************************ In the eyes of the government supporters this is a fight against rebels armed and supplied from abroad (true) In the eyes of the Rebels, this is a fight against a Repressive Regime which is a complete failure to it's own people (true) In my eyes, they just both have to put down there weapons immediately, and stop being such monkeys! (true)
