The Australian metropolis offers a prosperous economy, a hugely successful culinary scene, and access to top-notch sporting events. It ranked No. 1 (for the second year in a row) as the most livable city in the world in the Global Livability Survey, which takes into account crime, health care, education, culture, and infrastructure. Other top-ranking cities, with a heavy Canadian presence, from the Wall Street Journal:

  3. Toronto
  4. Calgary
