'Skins Steamroll Cowboys 27-6

Posted Dec 30, 07 9:38 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – The Cowboys have already clinched their top seed, so today's blowout loss to the determined Redskins won't influence Dallas's playoff schedule. It may affect egos, however: the Cowboys managed a single rushing yard and Tony Romo threw for just 86 yards and a pick, AP reports. Washington, on the other hand, was on its game.

The Redskins amassed 354 yards, 244 of them off the arm of backup quarterback Tom Collins, who ended up going 23 for 31 on a slippery night. The last team to cement a post-season berth, Washington is gearing up to face Seattle next week. The Cowboys, who retain their home-field advantage during the playoffs, were playing without Terrell Owens and four other key starters.
