Rodney King Was on PCP, Coke, Booze: Death Report

They all contributed to his pool drowning

(Newser) – Rodney King's cause of death is listed as drowning—but PCP, cocaine, marijuana, and alcohol also played a role, his death report says. "In a state of drug and alcohol induced delirium," King fell or jumped into the pool where he drowned, the report says. "The effects of the drugs and alcohol," plus a heart condition, "probably precipitated a cardiac arrhythmia and (King), thus incapacitated, was unable to save himself and drowned."

Word of drug use had emerged earlier. A collection of unusual objects, including a pitchfork, hoe, and vacuum pool sweeper, were all in the pool; King's girlfriend, who said she couldn't swim well, had used them in an unsuccessful attempt to pull him out, TMZ reports.

What's new.  Once a doper always a doper.   Glad he's gone and I hope never to hear his name again.

The Black population of Watts and L.A. hailed him as their hero and mentor.  He was that indeed considering all the crack, meth, angle dust, alcohol he consumed.  But in reality he caused millions upon millions of uncompensated damage to mostly Black owned businesses.  The riots devastated Black owned districts and in the end, it created a boon for Asians to take over those delinquent properties.   Even Magic Johnson was a financial victim as his Magic Johnson theatres failed miserably in an environment of gang battles. The irony of that is the only Johnson theatre that has not closed in the USA is in Harlem.  Go figure that one, Harlem is less violent than Watts.
