Nike: We're Sticking With Lance

Armstrong hasn't lost any major sponsors ... yet

(Newser) – Nike says it will not drop Lance Armstrong as a spokesman despite his latest doping trouble. "Lance has stated his innocence and has been unwavering on this position," said the company, his major sponsor. "Nike plans to continue to support Lance and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, a foundation that Lance created to serve cancer survivors." So far, neither Armstrong nor his foundation have lost any big sponsors, reports ABC News.

Anheuser-Busch and sunglasses maker Oakley are among those who have stated they will stand by Armstrong, though bike maker Trek said it hasn't made a final decision. Armstrong, however, almost certainly will see a dent in his endorsement income: Forbes estimates he could miss out on $50 million over the next five years.

Major sponsors are sticking with Lance despite his fall from grace today, at least for now.

Armstrong should end HIS deal with Nike. I'd never work with a company that supported an unrepentant dog abuser and killer like Michael Vick.

A few facts: The Congress of the United States partially funds USADA. USADA wants to get their hooks into pro baseball, football, basketball and every other sport because their funding "fix" from Congress has dropped. For those who posted here that care not a whit about cycling, when these guys get into your favorite pros sports and start banning players for life it'll be too late.
