A very lucky man was seriously injured but survived when a shark attacked him off the Western Australia coast yesterday, Australia's ABC News reports. The 34-year-old was surfing when he was bit on the abdomen, then on the arm as he tried to fight the shark off. "The water was full of blood," says a witness. Amazingly enough, the man stayed conscious as he was rescued, and was "in good spirits, as well as he could be," she adds. The popular tourist beach has since been closed.
