Chelsea's Lips Are Sealed

(Newser) – Chelsea Clinton has strictly maintained press silence while campaigning with her mom in Iowa, turning down even a “kid reporter” for the Scholastic News, the AP reports. "I'm sorry,” Chelsea told the 9-year-old yesterday, “I don't talk to the press and that applies to you, unfortunately. Even though I think you're cute."

Sydney Rieckhoff, who has posed questions to many candidates this year, had asked the former first kid: "Do you think your dad would be a good 'first man' in the White House?" The episode highlights Chelsea’s carefully defined role in the Clinton campaign: Although maintaining strict silence onstage and with the media, she energetically works crowds, asking attendees: “Are you going to caucus for my mom?"
