In the final game for the Wolverines' celebrated head coach Lloyd Carr, Michigan won its first bowl game in five years, beating the ninth-ranked Gators 42-35 in today's Capital One Bowl, the Detroit News reports. Wolverines' QB Chad Henne had 373 yards and three touchdown passes, and Mike Hart had 129 rushing yards.
"It was my last game in a Wolverines jersey and his last game coaching. We all had mixed emotions," said Hart. "What they did in this game and this environment, well, I love them to death," said Carr. The game was close throughout, as Michigan turned the ball over four times, and Gators' QB Tim Tebow was excellent despite a broken bone in his off-hand.
