Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds Tie the Knot

Wedding bells for couple that hooked up a year ago

(Newser) – Read it and weep, guys and gals. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds tied the knot last night at historic Boone Hall Plantation near Charleston, South Carolina, reports People. Lively's pal Florence Welch of Brit rock band Florence and the Machine performed three songs for the madly-in-love couple, and the pair's happy families were on the scene. The two began canoodling a year ago and have been shacking up in a New York state home they bought together in Bedford. The duo co-starred in last year's Green Lantern. It's the first marriage for Lively, 25. Reynolds, 35, was married for two years to Scarlett Johansson.

Did Newser correct the town name? It says Charleston in the story. I visited Boone a couple months ago... lovely place for a wedding.  Why the hate? This couple has managed to keep a relatively low profile over the past year, they've been together over a year and decided to marry, not just "shack up" like so many celebrity couples. I wish them well. I married my husband of many years 4 months after we met. It isn't the length of the courtship that determines marital success, it's the commitment level of both to the relationship. Congratulations to them.
