Chris Osgood and the Red Wings bolstered their mastery of the Stars, winning 3-0 to notch their thirtieth win—the first time they've done so by the season's midpoint, reports the National Post. Osgood has now won 26 of 39 games against Dallas. Stars goalie Marty Turco, conversely, has won just one of 15 versus Detroit. Also in hockey:

  • Marty Brodeur got his sixth straight win over in New Jersey's 3-2 win over Florida, who had won seven of eight on the road.
  • Marian Hossa struck with just 32 seconds left in overtime to lead Atlanta over Carolina, 5-4.
