(Newser) – Chris Brown has tested positive for drugs while on probation for a 2009 felony conviction for assaulting former gal pal Rihanna. He failed a random drug test while doing community service in Virginia. He told a judge in a Los Angeles courtroom yesterday that he had smoked marijuana in California, and had a medical marijuana card from the state issued by an acupuncturist, reports the New York Daily News. The judge set a probation violation hearing date in November, at which time the singer's probation could be revoked. "This is my advice to you: You are not an average person,” Judge Patirica Schnegg told Brown. “You’re not only in the public eye but you’re on probation. I’m going to caution you. You should be very mindful of obeying all laws and rules.”

Of course he's not an average person...Average people don't beat their girlfriends...(then get a tattoo of it on their neck). If it was anyone else, they'd already be in prison. Favoritism in the justice system is a violation of everyone's rights, even if it was just pot (which i support the legalization and decriminalization of). V.O.P. is V.O.P. any way you slice it.
