4 Years Later, Britney's Still 'Heavily Monitored' Spears' family, friends just trying to keep her safe, source says By Evann Gastaldo, Newser Staff Posted Oct 2, 2012 9:08 AM CDT 4 comments Comments Britney Spears attends "The X Factor" season two premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, in Los Angeles. (Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP) (Newser) – Britney Spears' life, at least as reported by Radar, does not sound all that fun. More than four years after her conservatorship started, her cell phone and Internet use are still "restricted and heavily monitored," a source tells the gossip site. Of course, all of this is "for her protection," to keep her away from former manager Sam Lutfi, the source explains. Britney and fiancé Jason Trawick "essentially share a cell phone, and it's routinely checked to see who has been calling." Spears' restraining order against Lutfi expired earlier this year, and he's suing Spears and her family for defamation and breach of contract. Numbers associated with Lutfi are also blocked, and on her computer, certain websites are blocked because "her family doesn't want Britney reading negative stories that would upset her," the source explains. But hey, "this is all done with love and for her well-being."
