(newser) – Longtime business stalwart Lenovo will unleash a stylish new line of laptops on a crowded consumer field, the Wall Street Journal reports. Lenovo’s IdeaPad line will offer sporty red aluminum-alloy cases and higher-performance gaming specs, as well as novel features such as face-recognition software that lets users log in simply by looking at the screen.

Consumers will pay a premium on the new line, with prices ranging from $799 to $1,199. Some analysts wonder whether buyers will be willing to pay more for features they could get for less from other manufacturers who aren't pushing the high-end image: "Design can command a bit of premium, but not that much," explains one.
