Oft-embattled Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez hit his tenth home run in 14 games to sink Cleveland 8-6, matching the second-fastest ten-homer start in major-league history.  Cleveland closer Joe Borowski gave up six runs in the bottom of the ninth, all after achieving two quick outs.

Yankees shortstop and captain Derek Jeter said, "You enjoy it. You appreciate it. I can't relate to it."  A rueful Joe Borowski said of his meltdown, simply, "They hit everything." (More MLB stories.)
