(Newser) – Either Argo triumphed at the weekend box office, or Hollywood's other offerings were just too weak to compete, the LA Times reports. Ben Affleck's rescue thriller snagged the top spot in its third week with $12.4 million—the year's second-lowest No.1—followed by The Possession ($9.3 million), the highly anticipated Cloud Atlas ($9.4 million), and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. Nickelodeon's Fun Size ($4.1 million) and Gerard Butler's surfing pic Chasing Mavericks ($2.2 million) debuted somewhere off the cinematic radar.

You can't make epic movies like this....and expect a world full of stupid people to watch it....hell...I think 99% of people just wouldn't get it ya know....those people are the ones who only get movies like twilight...if it's not like twilight....then don't bother!! atlas is too sophisticated for today's world!!
