E! reports that Brown is the one holding "a large (presumably) fake assault rifle in the air."   (Instagram)

(Newser) – Chris Brown, that bastion of good judgement, is once again courting controversy. The singer attended a Halloween party thrown by Rihanna, but the latest Brown-Rihanna meeting isn't what has fans peeved—it's his costume choice. E! reports that Brown and four friends went as a posse of Arab-style terrorists, complete with beards, turbans, and weapons, as evidenced by an Instagram shot and Brown's accompanying tweet: "Ain't nobody F--king wit my clique!!! #ohb." Sure, it's just a costume, but "given his history, you wouldn't think Chris Brown would want to associate himself with violence and destruction," writes Rebecca Macatee.

Meanwhile, Leann Rimes stirred up her own batch of controversy by dressing as Sandy from Grease—days after the storm of the same name. US Weekly has pictures. Hubby Eddie Cibrian got his Danny on to complete the effect.

I read this story. At the end of it I saw comments by Ucantusethatname 1) Why does any person care about Brown? And why does such a scumbag receive so much public support? Stop buying his "music" and he will be quickly forgotten. Let him alone and he beat up himself. and then by bubbahotep 2.The only costume this buttcrack needs is an orange jumpsuit. I have to say, that feel the same way. First, what is the fascination with Chris Brown? This stunt he pulled is just another way of his getting attention, and many of us keep giving it too him. Then with some of his antics, a orange jumpsuit, may just fit. I have gotten tired of him. He has become nothing more than tabloid fodder. Linnie

Oh. For a second, I thought E! was actually complaining that Chris Brown's costume was racist. And I was like, wow, I'm surprised E! would complain about this but not whenever celebrities dress as geishas or generic Native Americans... But still, good point, E. But no, it was that he shouldn't want to be associated with death and destruction. Hmmm.... Fuck you, E!.
