Help may be on the way, but there's still nowhere near enough gas to around in New Jersey. As a result, drivers will have to check their license plates before filling up: It's gas-rationing time, a la the 1970s, reports NJ.com. Starting today, drivers with license plates ending in even numbers can get gas only on even days of the month, and those with odd numbers on odd days. The rule is in effect in the 12 hardest-hit counties. For the record, those with vanity plates fall into the "odd" category. (More Hurricane Sandy stories.)
