Clinton Wells Up: 'This Is Very Personal'

Posted Jan 7, 08 4:09 PM CST in Politics

(Newser) – Hillary Clinton showed emotion more characteristic of her husband at a New Hampshire coffee shop today, fighting back tears as she talked about the race with a group of 16 undecided voters. After an hour of discussing policy, the candidate’s voice broke: “It’s not easy, and I couldn’t do it if I just didn’t passionately believe.”

The questioner, who had asked, “How do you keep upbeat and look so good all the time?,” came to the event an Obama supporter but left a Clintonite, MSNBC reports “I’m shaken, I’m delighted with her," she said. "I’m in love.” The candidate regained her composure and said, “Some of us are ready and some of us are not.”
