(AP) – The US National Transportation Safety Board is confirming that Mexican singer Jenni Rivera was indeed killed, along with six other people, in the Learjet crash early yesterday in Monterrey's mountains. "It was Jenni's plane that crashed and that everyone on board died," her father, Pedro Rivera, told dozens of reporters gathered in front of his Los Angeles-area home. "I believe my daughter's body is unrecognizable."

It is the first official confirmation of Rivera's death, although she has been widely presumed dead since the wreckage of her plane was found yesterday. The NTSB is sending a team to assist Mexican authorities with the investigation. An NTSB spokesman says Mexican aviation authorities had confirmed Rivera's death to the NTSB.

Wow Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Patsy Cline, Otis Redding, Jim Croce, Ronnie Van Zant, Stevie Gaines, Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Denver, and now her. My conclusion: tiny planes suck.

Seem like there is some kind of bad mojo surrounding Latina singers. Such great talent and such great tragedy.

Very sad... :'(  RIP Jenny and friends.  I'm still a little confused as to why many items were found still put together, but they can't find or identify bodies.  They're saying that she must be unrecognizable, yet one of her dresses still looks the same with no visible damage...doesn't make sense.. Sigh...
