(Newser) – Fighter jets belonging to the regime of Bashar al-Assad have bombed a Damascus refugee camp today amid heavy fighting with rebels. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights tells the BBC that at least eight are dead in the al-Yarmouk refugee camp, which is home to mainly Palestinian refugees; Reuters, meanwhile, reports that dozens were killed. An unverified video posted online showed bodies in the street, and in a mosque where refugees had reportedly been seeking shelter.

The Syrian government is a danger to world peace. The Syrians host terrorist groups like Lebanese Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad. Syrian dictator Assad is good friends with Iranian Anti-Semitic President Ahmadinejad. Assad kills his own people. Assad threatens his own people with chemical warfare. Assad kills refugees. How long will the world stay quiet? Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Syria must be free. The world must act. President Obama has accepted the Syrian Rebels as the only valid Syrian government in the world. The E.U., the U.N., NATO, Turkey, Israel must and shall invade Syria by land sea and air and remove the evil Assad. How long must Syrians live in fear? How many Syrian women and children must go missing for questioning the government of Assad? Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. It is high time that the world evict Assad from power. Anything other action would just be plain wrong.
