(Newser) – Gunshots rang out at a San Antonio movie theater last night, sending moviegoers scrambling for the exits and barricading themselves in bathroom stalls, and leaving two people injured, the Express-News reports. The incident started at a Chinese restaurant nearby and "carried on into the theater," a detective says. The lone suspect was wounded, possibly by an off-duty police officer who was working at the theater, then taken into custody.

The suspect may have been targeting a co-worker, according to an employee from a different location of the restaurant involved, who was at the scene. At one point, he fired at a police patrol car. "He was shooting at a marked unit," the detective says. "He knows he was shooting at an officer so that's [an] automatic [charge of] attempted capital murder." WNDU reports that the incident started as a domestic dispute, and says the suspect shot someone while running through the parking lot. He was then reportedly shot after running into the theater bathroom.

Here we go, sensationalism. I'm not trying to say that violence doesn't suck, but this is also NOT another CT. A wide array of weaponry is used in violent acts, and sadly violent episodes (especially in a scale as small as this) occur in many places every day. We're hearing about lots of gun crime now as a fairly obvious attempt to back some escalation of gun control. People are beat to death or within an inch of their life by people using only their fists or feet every day, too. That sucks just as much as similarly serious injury by firearm, and it'd be curbed just about as much as gun crime would be with additional gun control.

When is all this craziness going to end? Ban all guns for the sake of our children, sister, brothers, Mothers and Fathers.
