Should We Be Profiling White Guys?

Not necessarily, but we need to discuss why conservatives won't: David Sirota

(Newser) – David Sirota went on MSNBC yesterday and pointed out that no one really wants to profile American mass murderers, because most of them are white men—the only group that "our political system avoids demographically profiling or analytically aggregating in any real way," because white males hold a privileged position in our society. His comments enraged the conservative media; he was accused of "injecting divisive racial politics" into the discussion about the tragedy in Newtown. But that furor just proves how desperate the conservative movement is "to preserve its White Victimization Mythology," writes Sirota on Salon.

"In this mythology, the white man as a single demographic subgroup can never be seen as a perpetrator and must always be portrayed as the unfairly persecuted scapegoat," Sirota writes. "In this mythology, to mention truths about societal double standards—truths that are inconvenient or embarrassing to white people—is to be targeted for attack by the right-wing media machine." But Sirota isn't saying we should start profiling white men, though he says the conservative media would have you believe that's what he wants. He just wants it acknowledged that the only reason we're able to have "tempered and nuanced conversations" about what could have contributed to the shooting—as opposed to blaming one demographic group wholesale—is because the shooter was a white man. Violent crime in the US is overwhelmingly committed by Blacks.  They attack other Blacks, but also whites and Asians.  Interracial crime is almost always Blacks attacking others.  Naturally, the liberal media try to obscure that basic truth by publicizing the rare occasions when whites or Hispanics kill Blacks (as when the Hispanic Zimmerman shot in self defense the teen expelled from school T. Martin).  Liberals refuse to punish the abusive, aggressive, and violent Blacks, thereby encouraging them.  The Obama Administration has actually sued a school district for expelling Blacks out of proportion to the rest of the student body.  The Obama crowd never thinks to ask which group is more violent and deserving of expulsion.    Ignore the media when it comes to race and crime.  The liberal media lie, cover up, and promote the rare occasions of white on Black crime, even the hoaxes, like Tawana Brawley and the Duke lacrosse players.  Do not believe the liberal media, and perhaps we can try to reduce real crime.

Everytime there is a tragedy like this one, people are looking for ways to help, maybe I can do it better. When I was young man, looking for answers to Justice and fair treatement of human beings, many years ago today December 18, I landed in the USA. When I listen to people and began living with them, I tought I landed in the moon. A few hundred books on Philosophy and I got no answer; more books on Motivation, no answer; finally, a book by Og Mandino came out with the best answer that I was looking for, "there is no answer". I locked myself in a room and I began to scream at God: why can't I get an answer?, Why can't you improve the condition of the world?, why do people hurt each other and feel nothing?..Why there are so many hungry children in the world?.....I think one of these days I felt sleep, when I woke up, the answer was ringing in my ears: the world is none of your business; however children are another story. They are Angels, they don't belong to adults, they don't even belong to the world and I will take care of them. Today I see how people treat children, the abuse society is inflicting on children is incredible, they can't no even walk along to their school bus without being abducted , raped and killed sometimes by members of their own family. Just look at childrens faces, their divine smiles they are so much joy and we don't want to look at them for what they are......ANGELS.........

"In this mythology, the white man as a single demographic subgroup can never be seen as a perpetrator and must always be portrayed as the unfairly persecuted scapegoat." Substitute 'black' for 'white' and this is an amazingly accurate depiction of African Americans by the media. Projection?
