(Newser) – The White House has played host to its first same-sex marriage proposal: Marine Corps Capt. Matthew Phelps asked partner Ben Schock for his hand. Photos of the moment have been making waves across the Internet, thanks to a posting at the American Military Partner Association, Gawker reports. "Thanks for all the wonderful greetings and messages, and thanks to Barack Obama and Michelle Obama for lending us your home for the occasion!" Phelps posted on Facebook.

I'm not against gay marriage or anything but the timing on this seems a bit "Queer". I'd of waited til the Connecticut kids were buried. But that's just straight old me...

hey you guys got this one all wrong! the more gays in the armed forces of any country the better! the gays will spend all of their time redecorating rather than fighting! this would be "a very good thing" dont you think?
