Barring a confirmation surprise, he will replace Hillary Clinton

(Newser) – The not-so-surprising leaks were right on the money: President Obama today picked John Kerry to be his next secretary of state, reports AP. "I'm very proud to announce my choice," said the president, adding that Kerry's whole life and career "has prepared him for this role." Kerry currently serves as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations panel and, barring any confirmation surprises, will replace Hillary Clinton next year. And who knows, it might just set up a battle between Ben Affleck and Scott Brown for his Massachusetts Senate seat.

(R) 2014 & 2016 Gov. RICK PERRY Report:  We think Sen. John Kerry will be confirmed to serve the Secretary of State position for sure. However, Kerry is anti-Nixon, and I am pro-Nixon (foreign policy & affairs, academic and Agriculture for Africa). Kerry is a veteran of US Navy, and the 2014 & 2016 Gov. RICK PERRY is a veteran of US Air Force, we all love our F-22, F-35 (Sales), and a Flying Saucer. The 2016 Gov. RICK PERRY will fulfill JFK's Peace Corps to merge with the State Department and lower-level CIA.
