(Newser) – Today, in Ironyland: A Massachusetts man was nailed for driving under the influence on Christmas Eve—after depositing his car on the front lawn of the former home of the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. The Rutland Herald reports that Donald Blood III apparently thought the Wilson House lawn was a parking lot. Bill Wilson's Vermont home is on the National Register of Historic Places and continues to host AA meetings several times a week; it operates as a "place of sanctuary where people can come to give thanks to God for their new lives," per its website. Blood has a Jan. 14 court date.

It seems to be an appropriate sort of place for a DUI offender to get busted.Heck, the court will probably order him to attend meetings there. He just knew where to go to get help.Of course, if he took a taxi, he wouldn't have to go through the legal system now.Ooops!

Did they test his "Blood" alcohol levels?  I'm thinking maybe the guy was just trying to reenact a scene from, Its a Wonderful Life.

Poetic justice if I ever saw it. Maybe it's a sign he should do something about his drinking....
