Ex-Neighbor Helped Shooter Get Guns: Report

Rochester newspaper says at least one arrest expected soon

(Newser) – The man who killed two firefighters in an ambush was a convicted murderer, so how did he get the arsenal to pull off his plan? The Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester may have the answer: A woman who used to be his neighbor and her daughter helped Spengler get the guns, though it's not clear when. Spengler apparently said so in his note to police, sources tell the newspaper. Expect one or both women to be arrested soon. More coverage here, including autopsy results showing Spengler killed himself and was not shot by police.

Fact-Guns purchased online can only be shipped to a gun dealer who does the mandatory checks and charges a fee, Most transfers at gun shows are done by dealers who do mandatory checks prior to transfers. This gun was not a legal transfer to the criminal who used it. The person who purchased the gun and gave it to the criminal will face criminal charges. Criminals will do criminal acts no matter what.

How do the commentators on Newser feel about being able to buy guns by mail-order and at gun shows?  I would like to know.

More gun control will only increase business to the Black Market.
