H.W.: Country May Be Feeling "Bush Fatigue"

(Newser) – "Bush Fatigue" may finally be hitting the nation, patriarch George H.W. told Larry King last night. King asked whether Bush Père bought into Mitt Romney's theory of 2008: that Jeb will sit out to avoid Bush-lash. "There's something to that—there might be a little Bush fatigue now," Bush said.

Meanwhile, Barbara Bush, when asked whether Romney's Mormon faith—with its polygamist past—would hurt his prospects, averred that there are "wild people" in all religions. Writes liberal blogger virgotext of the interview: "Further proof there is a Planet Bush, which bears almost no resemblance to the planet we Americans live on."

Barbara Bush in good spirits after serious health scare

(NEWSER) - Barbara Bush is making a quick recovery after surgery for a perforated ulcer that was causing pain she described as "worse than childbirth," the Houston Chronicle reports. The 83-year-old was sitting up and joking less than a day after the procedure, which her husband called "serious and scary." The former first lady won't be able to eat Thanksgiving turkey, however; she'll be fed meal intravenously before shifting to a liquid diet. More»
