(Newser) – Sacramento pulled the plug on a New Year's Eve midnight fireworks show after five people were shot, at least two of them fatally. Tens of thousands of people had gathered in the Old Sacramento district for an earlier fireworks display when shots rang out near a bar, CBS reports. Police did not confirm an arrest but witnesses said a suspect was taken into custody. (Read more New Year's Eve stories.)
