Brit Flees Family Intervention

(Newser) – LA’s favorite tabloid fodder skipped town last night, avoiding a planned “family intervention,” which, published rumor had it, would look a lot like being dragged off to the psych ward by the cops again. Britney Spears and her paparazzo boyfriend hopped a private jet to New Jersey, friends told the Daily News. Where they went from there is a mystery.

Spears was also reportedly miffed that her folks had rehashed the Dr. Phil Incident on the Today Show. The Spears family said they had “extended an invitation of trust” to Dr. Phil, and hadn’t intended to make it “a public display.” The good doctor met Spears once at her mother’s request, and said she was “is in dire need of psychological intervention.”
